Just as you can have an irregular period, you may also notice unusual or unexpected bleeding at some point. There can be spotting for a day or two after your cycle has ended. It is common for periods to be somewhat irregular. The cycle also may get shorter after the age of 35. At this time it is also normal to have a skipped or missed period.
