What is the ovulation phase?

Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from a woman’s ovarian follicle through the fallopian tubes. Sometimes two eggs mature a month. The increase in body hormones is what triggers ovulation. If your period has regular twenty eight day long cycles then ovulation will usually occur on the 14th day.

What is the follicular phase?

Phase two, known as the follicular phase, is when the hormone estrogen causes the lining of the uterus to grow or proliferate. The lining inside the uterus is called endometrium and starts to develop to receive a fertilized egg should a female become pregnant.
