How much flow is there normally?

The menstrual flow can be between 4 and 12 tablespoons. Every woman’s body develops a little differently and has their own period flow. If you experience flow where you change your pad every hour consult with a nurse or doctor to check if your period is normal.

What should a girl do when she starts her first period?

When her period starts she should ask her mother or a nurse for some pads. Make sure to keep your vaginal area clean and do not leave a pad on for more than eight hours. If your pad already feels heavy after 2 hours consider getting a higher absorbency. Drink a lot of water and eat less fatty and salty foods to reduce feeling fatigue.
