Why am I finding it hard to remove my Silky Cup?

If you’ve read your user guide and are still finding it difficult to remove, there are a few tips that you should bear in mind. Your cup may also be more difficult to remove if your cup is higher up in the vaginal canal. First of all, relax. Learning to remove your cup can be the most challenging part of getting used to your cup. Therefore, you’re more likely to be tense until you grow comfortable with it. Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth and relax the jaw as this will help the rest of your body relax including the pelvic floor and vaginal walls, which will aid in removal. Also, do not remove your Silky Cup (reusable menstrual cup) by tugging on the stem as this will increase suction and make it more difficult to remove. Rather use the stem to locate the cup, and then use your thumb and index finger to pinch or squeeze the base of the cup in order to release suction. While squeezing, slowly move the cup down the vaginal wall to the opening. Bearing down may help this process. Slowly tilt one side out and then the other.
