Does Silky Cup (reusable menstrual cup) leak?

If inserted correctly and you’ve purchased the right size, no, Silky Cup (reusable menstrual cup) will not leak. It has the ability to catch much more fluid than tampons can absorb. You may leak when first attempting to use Silky Cup, but it is recommended to turn the cup 360 degrees once inserted in order to ensure a proper seal. Wear a pad as backup protection during your first Silky Cup (reusable menstrual cup) use. If you leak, you may have inserted it too high and a quick adjustment should fix the problem. Unfortunately, due to the fact that we are all built differently, menstrual cups do not work for everyone. If you still experience leaking after your third cycle, menstrual cups may not be the answer for you.

Can I get Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) using Silky Cup?

Can I get Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) using Silky Cup?

Silky Cup (reusable menstrual cup) has not been linked to TSS. Due to the fact that tampons absorb, it can dry out the vagina, causing miniscule tears that allow usually harmless bacteria to enter the bloodstream which causes TSS. Silky Cup (reusable menstrual cup) is made of 100% medical grade materials and do not absorb like tampons do. It has no effect on the acidity levels of the vagina, making it less likely to get TSS. However, always follow the 12 hour rule of emptying your cup at a minimum once every 12 hours. If you’ve ever had TSS, consult your doctor before using Silky Cup.
